This grand pomp and show has been happening since 1215, and the tradition has been fastidiously followed. It was telecasted for the first time on the TV, in the twentieth century by BBC. It glued millions of people on televisions, while a huge surge participated in the event. This parade is carried with floats, and marching bands. Enjoy the revelry with a high spirit.
In the recent days, the parade covers over three miles. It begins at 11 am, staring from the Mansion House to the Royal Court of Justice, with the military flypast. And the mayor committees allegiance with an oath at the Royal Court of Justice. It takes a tour from Victoria Embankment at 1 pm, reaching the Mansion House at 2:30 pm. The event is wrapped at 5 pm, with a firework at the River Thames, between Waterloo Bridge and Blackfriars on the other side.
But unfortunately in 2012, there were no fireworks due to financial and practical problems. In 2013, they are determined to bring back fireworks. More details about fireworks in 2013 will be updated soon by end September 2013.
